BACKGROUND of the Micris Company's origins date back to the early 1900s from the US Oppenheimer family. For more than 100 years the Oppenheimer Company supplied the global market with a range of casings and ingredient products. A change in shareholding in the Australian arrangements in the 1990s resulted in the creation of Micris Packaging, a specialised packaging company. PROGRESSION - With the head office and manufacturing operation in Brisbane, Micris is now well established among the largest food, meat and poultry processors. Micris services customers from sales and warehousing facilities in all mainland capital cities, providing direct customer support and a streamlined distribution network. From the Brisbane facility Micris manufactures or converts a large range of packaging products. These include film lamination, speciality pouches, shrink bag making and unique casing conversion, all available in a high quality print presentation. Micris can also provide greater confidence for customers having ISO 9001:2000 quality and HACCP-9000 certification. TODAY - Micris Packaging has continued, since its creation to introduce many new products to the Australian market. These include:
Market trends have seen specialised lidding and processing films for retail case ready and home meal replacement products also introduced. The Micris range of packaging products can be found in retail, wholesale, export, catering and institutional food processing applications, and increasingly in non-food applications. Micris will continue to supply food packaging films, which extend the shelf life of food products to reach further into the local and export distribution chains. The Micris Company continues a strategy of utilising changing international technologies and so ensures that highly technical products and processes, which are being developed for larger world markets, are available to Australian customers. To facilitate this outcome Micris has strategic alliances with a network of major global packaging manufacturers. Micris is therefore not restricted to inflexible proprietary systems, unlike many of its local and foreign owned competitors. This philosophy allows for continuous improvement and development of products, packaging systems and conversion processes for customers, without being dictated to by a foreign corporate policy. FUTURE GOALS - to contribute to the success of the customers' enterprises
Micris seeks to continue its growth by
working closely with customers to find innovative solutions to ever
changing packaging requirement. It is a company with initiative,
enthusiasm, energy and a desire to achieve and offer customers a
serious and qualified alternative to the market dominant US Sealed
Air / Cryovac Corporation. With motivation, determination and
support from the owners, management and staff, the main goal is to
contribute to the success of the customers' enterprises. |
